Chronic daily but the attacks still feel different

so i have this constant 2-3/10 baseline on my right side that never actually goes away. since aimovig (started late march) it’s down to maybe 1-2/10 most days. but then i still get the full attacks - aura, the pressure, photophobia, the whole thing. they feel completely different.

and i genuinely can’t tell if that makes me chronic daily or episodic. nobody explains the difference when you have constant low-level pain AND separate acute attacks that happen to live on top of it. the internet says chronic daily is 15+ headache days a month. ok, i’m tracking it.

but which days count? the background noise 2/10 days? the days where aura hits but i catch it with nurtec before pain escalates? eight months on topiramate, three months on aimovig, and my neurologist’s never actually said which one i am.

just “keep taking these, doing better.” anyone else in this middle ground? how do you count your baseline days when it’s always there but the numbers keep changing?
