Biomarkers of Aging Conference 2025 just uploaded - worth it if you track your own labs

Biomarkers of Aging Consortium put their October 2025 conference talks up on YouTube. Been going through them this week. Worth your time if you’re in this space. The part that stuck with me is the gap between what they’re measuring and what’s actually accessible. Most of the compelling marker work is epigenetic clocks, plasma proteomics, stuff that runs thousands outside a research setting, if you can get it at all. So I’m left trying to figure out which of my tracked numbers are reasonable proxies. Resting HR dropped from about 72 to 63 over the past year, attributing that mostly to sleep architecture improving and getting TRT dialed in. Also tracking SHBG, HbA1c, hsCRP when I remember to order it. HRV scores. That’s roughly what I’ve got. The honest question I can’t answer: do these surface metrics actually correlate with the deeper aging markers? A guy who looks solid on resting HR and HbA1c could still have a rough epigenetic clock. No way to know without the actual test. And even then, what do you do with the data? That bridge from number to action isn’t really covered in the talks. Worth watching. Just don’t go in expecting the research-to-accessible-testing gap to be smaller than it is.
