I’ve been living with this long enough that a 3 or 4 doesn’t really register anymore. There’s almost always something there - pressure behind my eyes by mid-shift that just won’t quit. Used to send me to the ER. Now it’s just background noise I work around.
I’m on preventives that handle the worst attacks. But this baseline constant headache? I honestly don’t know if I’m supposed to tolerate it or if I’ve just gotten used to it as normal. Part of me wonders if I’ve missed the window where an abortive could actually resolve it - back when I was still treating every migraine like an emergency instead of just managing around it.
The weird part is realizing how many others seem to do the same thing. Someone mentions their daily headache and we all just nod like yeah, that’s normal. When did that become normal? Does anyone else find they’ve accepted a pain level they never would have before?
I’m wondering if I’m just normalizing something that actually needs different treatment, or if this is just the reality for those of us dealing with chronic migraines.
fwiw.
