Anyone Else Struggling with Extreme Dry Mouth and Throat?

Has anyone else dealt with this uncomfortable symptom—an extremely dry mouth and throat? It feels somewhat like acid reflux, making it hard to swallow properly. Chewing gum helps, but you can only do that for so long!

I’m 54 and find myself constantly switching between the various symptoms discussed on these boards. Just when you think you can’t handle one more second of a particular symptom, it fades away, only to be replaced by another that somehow feels even worse!

Hi there, and thank you for sharing your experience. I’m sorry to hear about the discomfort you’re dealing with—it sounds really frustrating. Dry mouth and throat can be a common symptom for many people, especially if you’re managing conditions like acid reflux, medication side effects, or even dehydration. You might also want to consider talking to your healthcare provider about this, as they can check for things like salivary gland issues or offer other treatments that can help relieve the dryness without having to rely on chewing gum.

It’s definitely tough when it feels like you’re constantly switching between symptoms that seem to get worse or more challenging. Many members here can relate to that constant cycle of new symptoms popping up, and it’s part of the reality of living with chronic conditions. You’re not alone in feeling that way!

If anyone else has found ways to manage the dry mouth or throat or has had similar experiences, feel free to share. Let’s keep supporting each other through this.
