I recently tore my Achilles playing football and joined this forum to seek advice and share experiences. Initially, I wore a boot with wedges, but a scan a couple of days later revealed the rupture. I’ve opted for non-surgical treatment due to my age and limitations.
Upon receiving the cast, I was given tinzaparin, which was alarming as I’ve never self-administered blood-thinning medication. Coupled with being confined at home, I’m feeling down. I wasn’t informed about other pain relief options like ibuprofen. I still have swelling in my foot, causing discomfort.
Any advice or reassurance would be appreciated. Recovery may be long, but I’m determined.
