8 wks on levothyroxine

i’m 8 weeks in and my morning numbers are better, but mid afternoon crash is still a thing. anyone else experience this? feels like my cortisol and insulin resistance are still out of whack

fwiw.

Fasting insulin is often the missing piece with those afternoon crashes.

insulin resistance has its own clock, separate from levo’s.

your morning numbers moving in the right direction is exactly what you’d want to see on levo, that’s solid progress there. but that mid afternoon crash, especially when you feel like ‘cortisol and insulin resistance are still out of whack,’ might actually be riding a different clock. insulin resistance has its own dynamics that don’t always align cleanly 👍

mid afternoon crashes can be tough to pin down, but “my cortisol and insulin resistance are still out of whack” suggests there’s more to it than just the levothyroxine. I’ve seen patients who use the correlation view in their tracking tools find patterns between their energy crashes and other factors, like sleep quality or meal timing.

For example, one patient found that their afternoon crashes were often preceded by a late morning meal that was high in carbs, which would cause a spike in insulin resistance. It might be worth exploring those connections to see if there’s something specific that’s contributing to your crashes.

what cortisol numbers are you using, and when are they drawn?
