i’m 6 wks into tracking my hives and flushing, trying to figure out triggers. still lost, but noticed some patterns.
heat seems to make it worse, and certain foods might be triggers too. anyone else experience this?

heat and food, yep, mast cells
i’m ten days into metformin and my acne is worse, not better, so i understand that feeling of “still lost, but noticed some patterns” when your body isn’t doing what the labs say it should. it
6 weeks is still early for really clear stuff. i’ve had migraine trigger logs go on for months before anything solid showed up, especially with the ‘still lost, but noticed some patterns’ vibe. took like 4-5 months of daily tracking before my neuro and i started seeing the full picture with mine.
heat making it worse is a pretty common thread in a lot of conditions, you said “heat seems to make it worse” which makes me wonder if it’s not just the heat itself but maybe the bodily response to it, like inflammation or something, that’s actually triggering the hives.
what does ‘heat makes it worse’ actually mean for you? is it just general warmth, or specifically sweating, hot showers, maybe even exercise?
and for foods, are you logging the exact time between eating something and when the hives or flushing starts? sometimes those delayed reactions are what mess people up when they’re tracking, bc it’s not always immediate.
getting those timestamps down was what finally got my doc to pay attention - i handed her a csv export at my last appt and she actually looked at it.
