so i’ve been trying to manage my lupus symptoms and i saw some people talking about using TENS machines for pain relief. i tried it and it kinda helps but it’s not a magic cure or anything.
it just helps with the pain a bit. anyone else use one of these?
what kind of pain relief do you get from it specifically, and for how long? “helps a bit” isn’t super clear.

i’ve messed with TENS for muscle pain that comes with orthostatic intolerance, and ‘not a magic cure’ is absolutely right. it helped numb some specific spots but didn’t stop the pem from kicking in if i overdid

“magic cure” is doing a lot of work in that framing, and you’re right that it isn’t one; few things actually are for something like lupus. but the “helps with the pain a bit” part can be genuinely significant when you’re managing chronic symptoms, even if it’s not addressing underlying disease activity. tracking that subtle
