So the LH surge is what was blocking me

i finally read something that clicked - how the LH surge is what actually matters with irregular cycles, not just counting days and hoping. when you have PCOS and insulin resistance, the surge gets delayed or stuck entirely. that’s the real blocker, not “your body isn’t cooperating” like every gyno keeps saying. i’ve been logging temps and cervical mucus changes for years but never connected it to insulin blocking the surge.

once i started tracking the LH spike specifically instead of trusting a calendar, everything shifted. when my insulin came down (metformin helped), the surge showed up faster and more reliably. the research confirms it: if your insulin resistance is tanking progesterone and androgens, the cycle feedback loop gets stuck. you’re not broken, you’re blocked.

has anyone else found that tracking the LH surge made ovulation actually visible when regular cycle tracking just showed… nothing?

given the insulin resistance piece, i’m curious how metformin alone helped with the LH surge timing. you mention “when my insulin came down” but don’t specify what numbers you’re looking at - was it fasting glucose, a1c, or something else.

“you’re not broken, you’re blocked” is a great way to frame it, but i’ve seen cases where the block is more complex than just insulin resistance, and other factors like cortisol or thyroid come into play. did your doc run any other labs to rule those out.

dunno.
