RA flares aren't just random

i’ve been thinking a lot about my ra flares lately and how they seem to come out of nowhere. but the more i think about it, the more i realize that maybe they’re not as random as i thought. like yesterday, i was supposed to go to my partner’s place but i woke up feeling pretty crummy. needed to wee more frequently than usual and just felt off.

it got me thinking, are there actually patterns to our flares that we’re missing? i know i’ve been trying to track mine but it’s hard when it feels like everything triggers them. has anyone else noticed anything like this? maybe it’s not just about tracking every single thing we eat or do, but about looking for bigger patterns.

idk, just a thought. been on hydroxychloroquine for a while now and it’s helped some, but still getting these weird flare ups. anyone else experience this?

what does ‘wee more frequently’ actually look like in your log?

that feeling of something being ‘off’ before a full flare hits? i absolutely get that. imo it’s the kind of thing you notice only when you’re forced to pay attention, and then you start seeing it everywhere.

my doc always says look for patterns but it’s hard when everything feels like a trigger. you said “maybe it’s not just about tracking every single thing we eat or do, but about looking for bigger patterns” and that really resonates with me. i’ve been using a free-text journal tied to my tracked items and it’s helped me see some connections between flares and other stuff going on in my life.
