Two years of PT and my baseline hasn’t budged. Still at 5-6 most days. Stretches help when I’m flaring, keep things from getting worse, but I’m not healing, just functional enough to work. There’s no point where I think “oh, I’m actually better now.” Pain clinic is 8 weeks out.
Everyone says they’ll have the real answers, the medications that move the needle. But I’m wondering if the needle moves at all. Maybe treatment just means learning to live at 5-6 instead of crashing to 7. Maybe that’s what moving the needle actually means.
Sleep’s rough. Diet doesn’t matter. Stress is obvious but I can’t control it. Real question: does your baseline ever actually shift, or does treatment just mean functioning better at the same number?
that’s my take.
