i’ve been thinking about the connection between nasal viruses and semaglutide. has anyone noticed a difference in how often they get sick since starting sema? i’ve been on it for a few mos and i feel like i’m not catching as many viruses as i used to.
idk if it’s the sema or just coincidence. also, saw a post about a new plastic film that can tear apart viruses on contact - could something like that be used to prevent nasal viruses in the first place? fwiw, i’ve been tracking my symptoms and i’ve noticed a decrease in allergic rhinitis symptoms too.
wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar
it’s interesting you bring this up, bc i’ve been wondering if the general reduction in systemic inflammation from tirzepatide is doing something similar for me. my allergic rhinitis symptoms haven’t totally disappeared, but they
that feeling of ‘not catching as many viruses’ definitely resonates. i mean, i’m usually picking up every single bug wren brings home from daycare, especially running on two-hour sleep windows. imo i haven’t tracked it specifically,
The decrease in allergic rhinitis symptoms is what caught my eye. GLP-1s are known to have systemic anti-inflammatory effects, so it’s not a stretch to think that could be helping with both rhinitis and
that plastic film is interesting, but any real immune system changes from sema would be systemic, not just a surface barrier thing. hard to tease out correlation there w/o granular data.
