My ms symptom tracking

been away for a bit. so i’ve been thinking a lot about symptom tracking and how it’s helped me understand my ms better. i used to think it was just about writing down when i had a relapse or a flare, but it’s so much more than that.

it’s about noticing patterns and correlations b/w things like fatigue, spasticity, and heat intolerance. for me, tracking my symptoms has been a game changer in terms of managing my dmt and making informed decisions with my neuro. i can see how certain meds affect my symptoms, and it’s helped me have more meaningful conversations with my doc.

i’m still figuring it out, but i feel like i’m getting closer to understanding what works for me and what doesn’t. anyone else have any experiences with symptom tracking that they’d be willing to share?

fresh from logging some patterns in my own tracking, I stumbled on a study that mentioned how certain meds can affect histamine levels, which got me thinking about correlations between mast cell issues and ms symptoms. You said “noticing patterns and correlations b/w things like fatigue, spasticity, and heat intolerance” is key, and I’d add that looking into how different meds impact those patterns can be really insightful.

For me, tracking symptoms in a way that’s easy to visualize, like with specifically tuned colors for charts, has made a big difference in spotting those correlations - the dark mode on my tracker is actually what got me to start checking in at night, which has helped me catch some patterns I wouldn’t have seen otherwise. I’m curious, have you explored how different medications or supplements might be influencing your ms symptoms, and if so, how you’ve gone about tracking those effects?

seeing the patterns is the first step, but getting your neuro to adjust treatment based on those specific correlations you find is where the real push comes in.

Fresh perspective here, noticing patterns and correlations is key, “noticing patterns and correlations b/w things” really helped me with my DMT adjustments too.

Fresh eyes on this now, been away for a bit. “noticing patterns and correlations b/w things like fatigue, spasticity, and heat intolerance” really resonates with me, dmitri, as i’ve been tracking my own symptoms and seeing how certain meds affect them, it’s been a game changer in managing my DMT and having more meaningful conversations with my neuro.

the “noticing patterns and correlations” part is what changed everything for me too, bc my C3/C4 levels would tank weeks before the appt but the single lab draw always looked fine. seeing that trend in careclinic’s charts made it undeniable.

Fatigue patterns are my biggest hurdle, noticing correlations between fatigue and spasticity like you mentioned is really helping me understand my ms.

patterns truly are the game changer, my C3/C4 always drops before symptoms.

seeing those trend lines in careclinic makes the connections obvious.
