spent 8 months thinking i had irregular cycles. 32 days, then 40, sometimes nothing. GPs said “that happens.” but when my endo looked at my tracking - cycle lengths, LH surge timing, temps - she said this isn’t irregular cycles. you’re not ovulating those months.
that’s anovulation. there’s a real difference. irregular cycles means ovulation just happens on a weird schedule. anovulation means some months there’s straight-up no ovulation happening.
standard testing didn’t catch it. i was doing day-21 progesterone on a 40-day cycle and OPKs from day 12 when my surge didn’t show until day 17+. the tracking made it visible. did anyone else realize your irregular cycles were actually anovulation?
