i’m not on HRT myself yet (still working through the thyroid piece), but i keep watching people start it and talking about their labs: estradiol in range, progesterone normalized, TSH not tanking. and then they’ll say something like, “my labs look perfect and i still feel awful,” and i feel like everyone just nods and moves on. there’s something real happening there that doesn’t get talked about enough. for me, it’s the thyroid: four months on levothyroxine, and my TSH is normalized, free T3 sits where it should, A1C is solid.
labs look good. but my weight hasn’t moved, my brain fog is still there, and i still crash hard 48 hours after my hands go ice cold. so i’m curious about HRT specifically. which symptoms actually feel different once the labs are in range?
does sleep shift first, or hot flashes? does energy move before mood does? and how long are we actually talking? because what i’m realizing is that “biochemically correct” and “actually feels better” might be two different timelines.
and if that’s true, people might be thinking their dose isn’t working when really it’s just… slower than they expected. has anyone tracked their response closely enough to notice which symptoms moved first?
