Intimacy struggles at 6 months pp

i’m 26 weeks pp and still feeling really disconnected from my partner. we’ve been trying to make time for each other, but it’s hard when you’re running on fumes and the baby is always demanding attention. some days i feel like we’re just roommates, not partners.

i’ve been tracking my mood and energy levels in careclinic, and it’s been helpful to see patterns, but it’s not like it’s giving me any solutions. i’ve been wondering if anyone else is going through this - does intimacy just magically come back after a certain point, or is it something we need to actively work on? i feel like we’re just surviving right now, not thriving.

my mom is always on my case about it, saying i need to make more time for my partner, but it’s hard when you’re barely holding it together. anyone have any advice or just want to share their own struggles?

it’s a tough spot, that feeling of “just surviving right now, not thriving.” my own experience with chronic pain and fatigue makes it hard to connect sometimes, even just finding the energy to talk. it’s not
