How do i function at work on a 6/10 day

just finished a shift today and it was brutal. prodrome started early, so i had to push through all morning. the actual event was low key but constant - maybe a 6/10 for hours, mainly allodynia in my face when we were moving people around, plus awful photophobia indoors.

i kept trying to do everything like normal, charting and everything, but every small thing felt exhausting, which i know is garbage. it’s not just the pain though; it’s having to fake that you can handle the lights and stress of field work when your brain feels kinda disconnected. instead of asking about meds for prodrome, has anyone figured out what practical strategies actually help with basic communication or physical tasks when the migraine fog is heavy?

like how do i tell someone ‘i’m totally impaired but need to pretend otherwise’.
