been tracking for four weeks now. fully logging it: when i ate, what i touched, when the flush hit, when urticaria showed up, which meds were already on board. the gap between trigger and symptom, the sequence when they layer, which symptom comes first and how far behind is the next one. all of it.
my allergist barely looks at it. just marks off “flushing” and moves on. but the timing is the actual data. flush at 15 min, urticaria creeping down my forearms an hour later.
and the whole thing shifts if i dosed the H1 blocker first versus post-exposure. that pattern is only visible if someone actually tracks it. someone being me. nobody else is doing this work.
not the doctor, not the clinic system. just me, at night after work, typing up what happened at lunch, comparing it to three weeks of other days. the real work isn’t the condition. it’s documenting it well enough that you can see what’s actually real versus what you’re imagining.
and if you don’t do that work, you’ll never know. does anyone else end up being their own data scientist just to get a straight answer about your own body?
