Five months on metformin: the ovulation came back

been on metformin for about five months now and i’m surprised at what changed. my endocrinologist said my insulin resistance was causing the anovulation - my body just wasn’t ovulating because the glucose/insulin feedback was messed up. first two months were rough (nausea), but around month three things started shifting. my LH finally spiked in a predictable window.

actual ovulation. periods within 28-32 days instead of the scattered 45+ day cycles i’d been dealing with. what surprised me most was the androgens dropping without any additional medication. no acne flare-ups, no extra hair loss.

just regulated. the bloating still happens post-ovulation (that’s progesterone), but at least i know when to expect it now. my doc is seeing actual data now. fertility-wise, this makes IUI feel like it might actually happen instead of just a dream.

has anyone else found that addressing insulin resistance fixed the cycle chaos? or did you need multiple meds to get there?
