Does anyone else get confused by lh strips with pcos

i keep reading about how important the actual lh surge is for timing everything but tbh my cycle tracking feels like a guessing game. since i have pcos and irregular cycles, the pattern just never really sticks. one month it’s anovulation and the next month something feels… almost ovulatory?

i try using the strips but honestly comparing a ‘positive’ result to what i was doing physically that day (sleep, stress levels, etc.) is impossible. does seeing an elevated lh even help if my actual progesterone levels aren’t keeping up with the rest of it all? or are they just really good for telling you when something might be happening vs.

when you actually feel a shift? i wish i knew what was actually actionable data from those tests outside of ‘you probably ovulated’.

cycle irregularity aside, “you probably ovulated” feels kinda vague when my lh strips are all over the place, what’s the actual threshold for a reliable surge detection

You’ve hit on a core interpretive problem with how LH strips get used as a proxy for ovulation. that hormonal surge usually precedes follicle rupture, but in pcos especially, you can have an LH spike that doesn’t

elevated lh doesn’t necessarily mean ovulation happened, what’s the actual progesterone level correlation you’re seeing
