Anyone else have employer deny accommodation for fibromyalgia

so i submitted an accommodation request at work for my fibromyalgia - just asking for flex hours on flare days and ability to work from home when i’m at a 6+ on the pain scale. rheumatologist documented it, i have imaging, everything. employer said “fibromyalgia isn’t a recognized limiting condition for employment purposes” and just denied it. said if i can’t work 8-5 five days a week, maybe this role isn’t right for me.

like… i’m not asking to leave. i’m asking for the pacing that keeps me from having full weeks where i’m stuck at 8/10 pain and can’t function. i can do the work.

my nervous system just doesn’t cooperate with rigid schedules when i’m in a flare. anyone else hit this specific pushback where the employer literally refuses to acknowledge fibro as limiting? did you end up fighting it through EEOC, hire a disability lawyer, or find some other angle that got them to listen?
