i’ve been on ajovy for 9 months now and the last 3 months have been pretty meh. went from 10 migraine days a month down to 15 again. my neurologist says that’s a normal plateau, but it’s frustrating bc i thought i had a handle on my pattern.
perimenopause started and everything changed - cycle days, aura timing, response to meds. i’ve been tracking everything in careclinic and the correlation view actually pulled out a pattern between my sleep and migraine frequency that i hadn’t noticed before. not sure what to do with that info yet, but it’s something.
anyone else have their migraine pattern break when they started perimenopause? how did you adjust your treatment?
ymmv.
perimenopause timing is everything you said “perimenopause started and everything changed” which is kinda my experience too, not with ajovy but with fatigue patterns. i was on plaquenil for my lupus and it seemed to be working okay until i hit menopause and suddenly i’m dealing with joint pain all over again.
my rheumatologist says it’s not uncommon for hormone changes to affect autoimmune stuff. i’ve been trying to track it all in careclinic, which is helpful because i can export the data as a csv and show my doc actual numbers instead of just “i feel worse”.
did you find that tracking your sleep and migraine frequency helped you identify any specific triggers or patterns once you started perimenopause?
